What would u do?

You are frustrated with your job. A job you enjoy for the most part and have had for 10years. Recent circumstances and unkept promises have you on verge of quitting, but you don't want to. Let's see...you are in charge of a certain section of the store and no but you ever stocks that section expect you and of course you can't be there 24/7. You are promised a promotion if you transfer to another store and nine months later that still hasn't happened yet. On top of that you find out that someone else is being promoted to that position before you. AAAHHH!! Not that that person doesn't deserve a promotion but when you are promised a promotion and nine months later someone else gets it before you, it's than a little frustrating. However, you don't want to quit because 1) you do enjoy your job, for the most part, 2) you have a family and are afraid you taking a pay cut with another job and 3) you don't want to lose your benefits.

My situation was nowheres near as bad as yours, for the most part I enjoyed what I did, it was just that we were constantly behind and therefore taking much heat from customers.
My other concern was that there was no future for me in that job in that I did not want to get into retail management.
So I took advantage of this incredible job market. I frequented Saskatoon job shop and other wbesites everyday and when I saw a job that fit my skill set I submitted. Only took about 10-15 minutes.
I had several interviews that resulted in two job offers, so I got to pick. My current job pays me more than my old, i have the best benefits package available and many perks. I am in my second week and so far so good, no real surprises and tons of opportunity for growth as this company does whatever they can to promote it.
There is so much opportunity right now, you should not have to put up with empty promises.
